Create a video DVD with a presentation

Introduction

In this tutorial we'll create a video from a presentation and make a DVD video for use on any home DVD player.

First step: Create a video from the presentation

Start Slide Effect, then open the presentation you want to export (File/Open menu or "Open" in the toolbar). In this tutorial we will use the presentation "Funky Sample" (available here) .

Export DVD
Once the presentation is open, use the File/Export presentation... menu. A wizard will open.

Choose Export presentation to a movie file... and then choose the standard (PAL) preset (or NTSC if you want to use the format used in the U.S.), enter a name for your video file and click Next> to start creating the video.

Be sure to disable your screen saver for the creation of the video: sometimes, if the screen saver appears when creating video, black images can appear in the final video.

To disable your screen saver, use the Start menu, then Control Panel, "Appearance and Personalization" and, finally, "Change Screensaver": Choose None.

Second step: use DVD Flick to create the DVD

In this tutorial we will use DVD Flick software to create the DVD. This is free software that is more than sufficient for our needs.

You can download and install it from here: http://www.dvdflick.net/download.php

Project Settings

Now, run DVD Flick and then click Project Settings.

On the General tab, change the "title" to something like "My Slide Effect Presentation" (This is the title that will appear in the main menu of the DVD).

In the Video tab, change the "Target Format" for PAL or NTSC according to your desires.

Then click Accept to close the window and apply the settings.

DVD Flick Add Item Title
Now click on Add Title... on the right of the screen.

Choose the video made with Slide Effect in the previous step, then click Open: You should now see a thumbnail of the video in DVD Flick:
